ZACH GERBARG, MD

Zach Gerbarg, MD, is co-founder and principal of Eagle Medical Management, LLC.  His experience includes over 15 years of senior level leadership positions responsible for strategic planning, operations, staff development, practice management, utilization management and quality improvement.

For over four years, he served as the chief operating officer for a 240 physician multi-specialty group practice with responsibility for over 1600 employees and 180,000 managed care members.  He has been the chief medical officer for an HMO and has also served as a physician executive in a large integrated health system.  He has managed budgets in excess of $150 million.

Additional areas for which he has had direct responsibility have included physician recruiting, contracting, wellness and prevention, urgent care, out-patient surgery, pharmacy, and home health/hospice.
  His experience also includes working with employers and participating in sales efforts on a national level.  He has served on the Board of Directors of two health care organizations and has assisted several venture-backed start-up companies.

Zach is a nationally recognized speaker who has designed and delivered educational programs for thousands of physician executives, practicing physicians, and health care administrators.
  He was recognized as Teacher of the Year in the Health Administration Program at Washington University in St. Louis.  He is a member of the National Speakers Association and serves as a faculty member for the American College of Physician Executives.  A graduate of Albany Medical College, Zach is board certified in internal medicine.  He spent two years as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at Yale University.  He then practiced internal medicine and became increasingly involved in medical management and consulting.


JESS BOYER, MD

Jess Boyer, MD, is co-founder and principal of Eagle Medical Management, LLC. He has more than 15 years of medical management experience in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors where he has held positions of CEO or Chief Medical Officer. Jess is best known for his successful turnarounds for established but struggling organizations as well as working with start-up ventures.

While leading IPAs, group practices and mixed models, his responsibilities included medical management, medical office operations, finance, claims and billing. He has also played a key role in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and sales and marketing.  He has achieved significant improvements in service and care while growing revenues and controlling costs.  Most recently he has been involved in capitation contracting and management, physician compensation and performance management for group practices. He has served on several boards of integrated healthcare delivery systems and Internet e-health startups.

Education and training programs for physician managers and healthcare executives is an important part of Jess’ contribution to Eagle Medical Management. He has designed programs in general management and leadership skills, teamwork, quality improvement and principles of managed healthcare.  Jess received his education and medical training in the University of California system. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. He spent two years as a national Kidney Foundation Fellow at the National Institutes of Health. He also served on the faculty of Tulane University.  During his career, he has received awards as Teacher of the Year selected by students and Clinician of the Year selected by his colleagues.
 

 Mary Sajdak, RN, MS, NP

Mary Sajdak, RN, MS, NP is a senior consultant with Eagle Medical Management, LLC.  Her experience includes over 15 years of senior level positions responsible for utilization management, quality improvement, network development and operations.

She has had direct responsibility for managing nurses, case managers, discharge planners and social workers in a variety of organizations.

Her talents include improving individual and organizational performance to achieve specific and measureable goals. Mary has extensive experience working effectively with physicians as well as nurses to achieve meaningful results. Her background includes managing medical practices, working in both the for-profit and non-profit healthcare sectors, and extensive experience in managed care. Mary has conducted numerous assessments of hospital, medical group, and managed care performance and has built entire departments to deliver case management and disease management services to large populations.
